2024 Programme
Our partnership with Future Frames

Since 2023, Allwyn has partnered with Future Frames to sponsor a month-long scholarship to Los Angeles for one director each year to learn from the best in the film industry, with a dedicated programme of mentoring, shadowing and training.

The Future Frames programme, established in cooperation with the European Film Promotion, is an integral part of the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival (KVIFF). Future Frames: Generation Next of European cinema, is dedicated to launching the careers of European directors, giving talented emerging directors a chance to learn from the industry’s top established figures.

Since 2015, Future Frames selects ten European film school students and graduates each year who have been recommended by member organizations of European Film Promotion to present their short and medium-length films to the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival audiences.

The participating filmmakers are also treated to a specially tailored mentoring programme that includes training, networking, and promotion. One selected participant is given the chance to go on a special study trip to Los Angeles, sponsored by Allwyn.

The Karlovy Vary festival is intended for both film professionals and the general public, and offers visitors a carefully designed programme, excellent facilities and a broad range of other services. Every year, it presents some 200 films from around the world, many of them as world, international, or European premieres. While others make it into Czech or foreign distribution, onto television, or into other festivals thanks in part to their screening at Karlovy Vary.
